Where to Begin?

Parents have so much to do!  I think we have all cried some tears the past several weeks.  Almost overnight, your role has changed!   You were the parent--either a working parent or a stay-at home parent.  Now you are all in the position of being teachers too.  It is overwhelming!  Because I know that you are working hard to get so many things done, I am going to try to limit what I put on this page.  I want things that will be helpful to you, but I know that you don't have the time for a 40 hour class!  I am trying hard to be very aware of the many directions that you are pulled in right now.  I know that I am not the only professional you are working with.

I am excited because there are such great opportunities that we have to share information with you and to really work together to improve your child's communication skills.  This page will have a link to a great resource if you are really interested in pursuing more information about communication.  BUT, the activities I will suggest that we work with will be listed by week.   If you want more information, ask and I can point you in directions.  You can check back to see what is new on a regular basis.  If there is something that I think will be of particular interest to you or your child's needs, I will direct you to those specific resources.

The AAC Calendar from the EdmontonCatholic School District contains a wealth of information all in one place!  It is beautifully set up so that it has activities for each week.  If you click on a week, it will provide activities for each day of the week.  While this information is GREAT, it can be overwhelming to those families who are managing multiple children and working and caring for a child with special needs and delivering instruction in your child's curriculum.  I will select several targeted activities from the calendar for each week of instruction.  If you want additional information, this is definitely the place to go.  Please see the link in blue below:
